Beginning Yoga
Class 1.25 hr
Classic yoga class includes basic poses, breathing, and alignment. Each student
receives individual attention including evaluation for improvements to
posture and help with problem areas: low back, shoulders, and knees. Class includes standing, seated and relaxation
poses, flexing the spine in all directions, range of movement exercises for the joints,
stretching, moderate cardio-vascular conditioning, cool-down and guided deep relaxation.

Office Yoga
1.50 hr
Simple stretches and relaxation for the office. Show how to use chairs, desks,
tables and ordinary office setting for stretches that relieve stress, back pain and reduce
repetitive stress injuries, fatigue, headaches in the workplace. Meditation techniques for
effective and creative problem solving, team-building and reducing workplace anger and
frustration are also given.

Gentle Yoga
Class
These special classes apply specific yoga postures and practices to chronic
illnesses and conditions. Subjects available: Arthritis, Seniors, Multiple Sclerosis,
Fibromylgia, Myofascial Pain Syndrome, Headaches, Cancer Survivors, Post-Polio, Breast
Cancer, Crohn's & Colitis, Diabetes, Cardiac, Menopause & PMS

Deep Relaxation
(Yoga Nidra)
This is an ancient method of deep relaxation, descending into deep levels of
consciousness. Helps unlock inner strengths, change negative habits and thoughts into
positive, life-affirming behaviors, and re-discover how to meet lifes challenges
with enthusiasm and courage. Students should bring a blanket and bed pillow.

Yoga for Meditation
Class
This class teaches yoga postures which help your body to become comfortable while
sitting, and which also bring about a calm and quiet state of mind. Simple and effective
meditation instructions are given, followed by a period of meditation.

Yoga for Stress
This class uses gentle postures to relieve deeply-held stress and tension.
Pranayama and meditation techniques soothe emotional and mental tension and allow students
to understand the sources of their stress and how to deal with it in creative and positive

Back Care Yoga
Yoga postures for back pain can relieve many forms of back pain whether caused by
muscle strain, scoliosis, sacro-iliac dysfunction, herniated disc, sciatica or
spondylolysthesis. Postures can ease tension and spasm, strengthen weak muscles, help
students learn proper posture and body mechanics. All classes include deep relaxation,
which helps to reduce pain.

Ashtanga Yoga Workshop with Laura Spaulding
Laura is the only instructor in Kentucky who was
authorized to teach Ashtanga Yoga by K. Pattabhi Jois, the great master of
Ashtanga Yoga who passed away in 2009. Laura has
specifically been authorized by Mr. Jois's successor, R. Sharath, to conduct
workshops to pass on the Ashtanga tradition just as she learned it from Mr.
Jois.
The Workshop includes includes an introduction to the Ashtanga Yoga
tradition and the teaching method of Mr. Jois, a primary series class
followed by a hands-on session to break down some of the more challenging
poses, and a question and answer period.

Yoga
Workshop
A workshop is ideal for students
who live in areas without a yoga instructor.
A Yoga East teacher will meet with your group and teach a workshop showing
basic poses, breathing, and alignment.
The fee includes a book and practice workbook for each participant, email or phone support with your Yoga East teacher, and coupons
and discounts for our classes and workshops at our Louisville studios.
Yoga Club
It's like having your own
yoga studio! You can form a yoga club at your church, in your home
with friends and family members, at your school or office, or as part of
your local social club.
The instructor will show members
how to set up your club meetings so you can practice yoga together
correctly and safely and support each other in your practice.
Fee includes a 4 hour workshop with a Yoga East teacher at your club,
yoga instruction book, workbook, phone/email support,
& coupons for discounts and classes at Yoga East.

Our Experience Counts
Our teachers are trained in our own year-long course in all aspects of hatha yoga,
anatomy and physiology. Our teachers are required to obtain continuing education hours
every year to maintain their certification. Our teachers are insured and hold CPR and
first aid certificates. We are experienced in teaching students of all levels, ages and
abilities and are trained to safely teach students with serious or chronic conditions and
pregnant women.
We have taught classes at many corporate
locations throughout Louisville, at churches, schools, and community agencies.
