WHAT IS A DRUM CIRCLE?
As the name states; a Drumming Circle is a group of people typically sitting in a circular format while in unison playing rhythms together.
Rhythms are a universal language, shared by all races through out history. Rhythms have no language barrier and they are at the core of celebration. Through out history drumming has always been at the center of celebrations; such as births, weddings, solstice, death, war, peace, just to name a few.
We each spent 9 months before birth listening to the beat of our mothers’ heart; rhythm is within all of us.
Rhythms can be of any origin and are free spirited.
The intention of the Drumming Circle is to create a sense of togetherness among the participants by promoting an open and honest form of self expression.
Drumming Circles do not require that the participants have a musical talent or ability. The success in any Circle is in the participants’ willingness to share and express their inner rhythm and mood. There are no lead performers in a Drumming Circle, there are only the participants and a facilitator whose only responsibility is to maintain the focus on the rhythms.

RULES OF THE CIRCLE:
Let yourself go and enjoy the freedom of the rhythm - no thinking, just react to the rhythm.

Breathe - close your eyes and breathe.

Get up and dance – if you are moved to doing so, let it happen.

Smile - not only is it natural while experiencing enjoyment but it brings you closer to your spirit's rhythm.

Chant if you wish - if you feel better chanting while playing, let it happen.

Bring a cause for celebration - are you especially thankful for something….
